Robotics – Past, Present and Future

During the meeting on May 26th 2016, Mr. Matthew Evanusa presented the lecture “Robotics – Past, Present and Future”. According to the lecturer robot construction in the past was dominated by preprogrammed, numerically controlled automated machines with limited sensory capabilities. Robotic construction in the present is undergoing a renaissance, fueled in part by advances in computing power and computer vision technology. Robotic construction of the future will be comprised of fully autonomous, intelligent robotic agents, capable of performing a variety of building tasks and aided by construction sites that are designed to accommodate them.
